Andreas Mershin, Ph.D. – Scientific Advisor
Dr. Andreas Mershin received his MSci in Physics from Imperial College London (1997) and his PhD in Physics from Texas A&M University (2003). Since 2004, he works at the Center for Biomedical Engineering of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is currently Senior Postdoctoral Associate, co-PI and Program Manager of a multi-million dollar, interdisciplinary international collaboration developing nano-bioelectronic photovoltaic and chemical sensing applications using membrane proteins integrated onto semiconductors. Brad R. Carey – Vice President of Engineering
Brad Carey has over 25 years experience in the design and development of the widest array of network interfaces and embedded systems available. Since 1998, Brad is President and founder of Axsys Automation located in Scottsdale, Arizona. His recent 10-year career at Axsys has provided him with the ability to offer complete solutions and new technologies to the automation industry such as internet enabled control, wireless access, and flex paging. Axsys is partnered with Echelon Corp as a qualified LONWORKS Independent Developer (LID), a member of RadiSys Corporation’s third-party marketing and development program as well as a WonderWare partner and OEM for InControl, InTouch, Industrial SQL Server, Scout, InTrack, and In Batch HMI software products. Christopher J. Love – Vice President of Research & Development
Christopher Love is currently a senior at MIT majoring in Chemistry with extensive experience in engineering. At MIT, he has researched a variety of topics, leading to a first-author, peer-reviewed publication in the Public Library of Science One explaining the mechanism behind the Voltree Power bioenergy harvesting module. His other work has included Scanning Tunneling Microscopy of membrane proteins and the mechanism of primary olfaction, the development of a drug-delivery system for the potent anticancer agent Paclitaxel, the design of an implantable medical device to treat dry macular degeneration, and sustainable transportation systems for Iceland and the world.
